Job summary
An opportunity for a full time Band 5 Orthoptist job has arisen. Our department provides an Orthoptic service across Worcestershire for both Paediatric and Adult patients covering a wide range of conditions which are often seen in specialist clinics. We work closely with the rest of the wider Ophthalmology team as well as having close links with other departments such as Neurology, Stroke and Maxial-Facial.
We also provide the school vision screening service for the county.
Main duties of the job
Dependant on experience, you will be involved in general Orthoptic, Optometry, Paediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Motility clinics.You will be expected to work independently but with close support available and you will also have the opportunity to be involved in the training of Orthoptic students, as well as other health professionals. The trust also has a preceptorship programme, tailored to Allied Health Professionals that will be offered as necessary. CPD is actively promoted within the department and time is regularly dedicated each week for administrative duties.
