Job summary

This is a wonderful opportunity for a healthcare support worker with variedexperience to work in a cutting-edge clinical environment.

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled radiology department assistant to join our multidisciplinary team in the MRI department.

The clinical range of patient presentations is wide and we would expect the successful applicant to communicate effectively, demonstrate a patient centred approach and contribute to the efficient running of the MRI department, with the provision of a consistently high standard of patient care.

Previous experience of working in a healthcare environment is essential. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a patient focused, technically advanced field and is an excellent opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge.

The department is keen to facilitate continual professional development and all staff are actively supported in this area. Cannulation training will be provided for the role.

Participation in the MRI extended opening hours is essential.

Main duties of the job

  • To assist with the running of the Breast Imaging Service
  • To assist Radiologists and Radiographers during interventional procedures
  • To prepare patients for their examinations
  • Support Radiographers in managing clinical workflow through the MRI service
  • Undertake general administrative duties as required
  • To check and maintain stock levels of consumables and linen/patient gowns

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent relevant experience

Experience

  • Experience in carrying out assigned duties/assisting qualified staff after training
