An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the nursing team on Ward 2 at Wansbeck General Hospital. We are a busy sub acute medical ward with an interest in Gastroenterology and Respiratory patients.
We are looking to recruit a dedicated and highly motivated individual who is passionate about providing high quality and compassionate care to our patients. We are looking for a clinical leader who will demonstrate role modelling, empowerment, and support to our clinical team and provide leadership and high quality nursing care.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills and will be dedicated to improving the patients' experience. You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to develop others and work closely within a multi-disciplinary team. The Deputy Ward Manager will be expected to support the Ward Manager, Matron and the Ward Team to maintain a patient focused positive experience and environment.
The successful post holder must be able to role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the Trust.

Job responsibilities
To assume responsibility for the devolved management of a ward/department, including the assessment of care needs, the implementation of evidence based programme of care in theabsence of the Ward Manager.
To supervise, support and educate junior members of the team.
To provide senior nurse site management cover.
To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
To be responsibility for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
To act as team leader and co-ordinate the multi-disciplinary care of a group of patients.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working andcollaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.

- First level live NMC Registered Nurse or Registered Mental Nurse
- Mentorship Qualification or relevant equivalent qualification (essential requirement for post, expectation this will be completed within an 18 month period).
- PP126/127 or AC631 or D32/33 or A1 or equivalent.
