Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for 4 x Deputy Ward Managers to join our Team here at Brockfield House.

These roles are Full Time & Permanent.

At Brockfield House we are a Multidisciplinary team that provides individualised care aimed at reducing risk, recovery and rehabilitation to prevent further offending.

We work closely with external agencies such as MAPPA, MOJ, Parole Board, Probation Services, and Border force. Our Service is covered by 7 wards across the site that supports people between the ages of 18-65 who are detained under the Mental Health Act 1983 or court order.

There are 7 wards, 5 Medium Secure and 2 Low Secure.

Main duties of the job

To work independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering 24 hr mental health access and information in the locality of the Trust. The service will be 7 days a week, 24 hours a day for 365 days a year working shifts in an in-patient low secure forensic setting.

To act as a role model to other Nurses and HCAs, supervising them to ensure high quality care is provided.

Work collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team.

To deliver a high quality and effective operational service to patients with complex needs, in accordance with the principles and objective of the Trust and its vision as identified in the service.

To work collaboratively with others within the new organization to provide an exemplary level of care to service users and their Carers.

To complete the required clinical audits, ensure compliance with Trust and local Policies and Procedures

Education

Essential

  • Registration Mental Health Nurse RMN

Experience

Essential

  • Requirement to undertake carers assessments
  • Understanding of / and the ability to conduct assessments and reviews of care.
  • Understanding of the nature of mental health conditions and how they can affect people's day to day life and impact upon recovery

Desirable

  • Previous Band 6 experience
  • Previous experience with the assessment of Students

Knowledge

Essential

  • Deliver training to colleagues and lower banded staff
  • Ability to support the team to meet their key performance indicators and contractual targets
  • To assess and treat own caseload of service users in accordance with Trust clinical pathways

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of the Paris Clinical Information System
