As an ES Senior Transport Manager in our Environmental Services team, you’ll provide strategic leadership and oversight of transport compliance and fleet operations, ensuring safe, legal, and reliable services that support our contracts and communities.
This is a senior opportunity, shaping how transport management operates, providing assurance that we meet our Operator Licence obligations while driving consistency, performance, and continuous improvement. Your work will help protect our people, our contracts, and the communities that rely on our services every day.
What you’ll do as an ES Senior Transport Manager
You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Provide leadership, direction, and performance management to Transport Managers across Environmental Services
  • Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence undertakings and UK road transport legislation, maintaining continuous and effective control
  • Act as the senior escalation point for transport compliance risks, regulatory concerns, and operational issues
  • Oversee fleet maintenance, inspections, and availability to support service delivery and contract performance
  • Drive consistent use of systems, standards, and reporting across all operational sites
  • Identify and implement improvements that enhance safety, compliance, efficiency, and cost control
    Does this sound like you?
    You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
  • A National Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage or equivalent
  • Proven experience in fleet management, transport compliance, or operational leadership roles
  • Strong knowledge of Operator Licence compliance and UK road transport legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver performance through others
  • Experience working in regulated environments with accountability for risk and compliance

    As well as checking eligibility to work in the UK, you will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to help us identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
