Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and experienced operational manager to lead our Perioperative Directorate. Educated to Masters level, candidates will be able to demonstrate significant NHS leadership experience with a proven track record of service development and delivering change in a complex system.
Candidates will have highly developed communication skills and be able to lead, in conjunction with the Clinical Directors and Lead Nurse, a multidisciplinary team.
If you have experience of managing multi-disciplinary teams and have a passion for both operational management and leadership, then this role could be for you. The role would be accountable for operational and performance targets, financial management and ensuring that there is a robust quality and safety system in place.
Main duties of the job
The General Manager is responsible for the effective strategic and operational management of the Perioperative Directorate, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient services within the resources available.
The General Manager will provide leadership and direction to the Directorates, taking the lead for developing the strategy for the services in line with the Clinical Board and UHB priorities.
The General Manager will lead the co-ordination of the business planning process and oversee progress throughout the year. The post holder will support the clinical team in the development of investment business cases and in the implementation of agreed capital projects.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable, however, not essential for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
