Job summary
The Quality Assurance Team is responsible for developing and providing systems and information to support clinical and operational work across the trust in the following areas: Patient Experience, NICE implementation, Clinical Audit, Accreditation, Quality Governance and Clinical Regulatory Compliance (CQC).
The Head of Assurance post-holder will provide strategic and operational leadership to the Quality Assurance Team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will ensure the Trust meets its clinical regulatory requirements as set out in the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
The post holder has full operational responsibility for monitoring and maintaining compliance with clinical regulatory standards and will be the lead source of expert advice and guidance in relation to clinical regulation.
The post-holder will support the management of relationships with the Care Quality Commission, will manage the administration of maintaining registration, and co-ordinate arrangements for any announced CQC regulatory visits
The post holder will take the lead on quality reporting and the management of the Trust's corporate Quality Committee.

- Provide strategic leadership for Corporate Quality Assurance
- Lead on regulatory compliance component of Quality Assurance work plan
- Have oversight of, and provide strategic support and direction to all quality assurance work streams Trust wide
- Oversee effective relationships between the Quality Assurance Team and Directorate Management Teams
- Lead on quality reporting to Trust Board including the quality report for the Trust Board, the annual Quality Accounts, and other quality reporting

Essential
- Educated to Masters level in a relevant subject or have equivalent experience
- Evidence of continuing professional development

- Evidence of relevant professional management training and/or qualification
- Quality Improvement qualification
Experience

- Significant experience of working in clinical governance systems and the delivery of robust assurance
- Significant experience of coordinating and leading preparation for CQC inspection
- Significant experience of working at a senior level in an NHS quality or assurance role
- Excellent track record of managing multiple concurrent projects and deliverables
- Significant experience of leading teams and managing people
- Experience of writing formal reports to Trust Board and relevant subcommittees
