Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide a specialist psychological therapy service to clients residing in the Lewisham Borough. This includes:
- Conducting specialist assessments to identify psychological needs.
- Developing individualized treatment plans, primarily using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
- Delivering evidence-based interventions and monitoring progress through weekly outcome measures.
- Ensuring high standards of clinical care and adherence to professional guidelines.

Job responsibilities
- Provide specialist psychological therapyfor clients referred to the NHS Talking Therapies service, integrating complex data from multiple sources, including:
- Psychological assessments
- Self-report measures and rating scales
- Structured observations
- Deliver at least one NICE-recommended psychological therapy for anxiety disorders and/or depression.
- Formulate and implement individualized treatment plans based on an appropriate conceptual framework and evidence-based methods.
- Monitor treatment progress and outcomes regularly to ensure interventions remain effective and aligned with best practice.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Postgraduate diploma in CBT for anxiety & depression (IAPT)
- BABCP practitioner full or provisional accreditation
Desirable
- Other relevant MSC
- Other TT modality qualification - 1 pt for each
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working as a qualified HI therapist in TT
- Experience of meeting activity and outcomes targets in a TT setting
- Experience of contributing to service improvement, audit, projects etc

- Experience in secondary care mental health services
Skills

- Skills in providing consultation to other professional and non -professional groups
- Skills in tailoring therapy to individual clients from diverse backgrounds and with other specific factors such as neurodivergence, socio-economic stressors, D&A issues and character traits.
- Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management frequently requiring sustained and intense concentration.
- Well-developed skills in the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, complex, highly technical and/or clinically sensitive information to clients, and where relevant their families, carers and other professional colleagues both within and outside the NHS.

- Experience at working with one or more NHS Talking Therapies-recognised psychological therapies at a specialist level
- High -level knowledge of the theory and practice of one or more NHS TALKING THERAPIES-recognised psychological therapies.
- Knowledge of effective care pathway navigation across primary and secondary care psychological therapies services

- Skills in tailoring therapy to individual clients from diverse backgrounds and with other specific factors such as neurodivergence, socio-economic stressors, D&A issues and character traits.
- Knowledge of the theory and practice of adapting specific NHS Talking
