About Sussex Gender Service (SGS)
Sussex Gender Service is an NHS adult gender service pilot in Sussex, which has been commissioned to provide local transgender healthcare for trans and non-binary people (TNBI). We are staffed by a team of administrators, care navigators, clinical nurse specialists, GPs, psychologists and speech & language therapists.

The role
We are looking for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to lead on a gender-affirming voice therapy caseload. You will deliver a blend of individual and group interventions, supporting people to develop evidence-based voice skills aligned with their personal and authentic voice goals.
Alongside your clinical work, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of the service, working closely with the Principal SLT to support day-to-day operations. You will also contribute to the growth of the team through supervision and support of a Band 6 SLT and an SLT Expert by Experience.

About us
Speech and Language Therapists in the voice team are based at St Peter's Health Centre in Brighton, conveniently located less than half a mile from Brighton Station--just a 10-minute walk. You will have access to a purpose-built, sound-treated voice therapy room, with the flexibility to work both on site and from home.We are committed to supporting flexible working and offer a range of options, including flexible hours, part-time roles, job sharing, and hybrid working. Home working is well supported, with funded equipment provided to help you work comfortably and effectively.

What Youll Bring
Essential
- Qualified SLT with HCPC registration
- Experience in voice and/or genderaffirming practice
- Strong clinical reasoning and ability to work with complex needs
Desirable
- Experience of supervision, training or leadership
- Interest in service development or innovation
- Experience working in inclusive, neurodivergentaffirming services
- Interest in singing or character voice acting (e.g. DnD)

- Competent at Levels A and B (or working towards B) of the RCSLT Trans and Gender Diverse Competency Framework
