An opportunity has arisen within our Infection Prevention and Control Team for an enthusiastic and innovative nurse who is committed to high standards of care and service delivery.
The post holder will work within the operational scope of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Service, facilitating the prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of infection at LNWUH NHS Trust. This incorporates a variety of settings including acute wards. The post holder will contribute to the IPC strategy of the organisation through participation in educational programmes, development of local policies and guidance based on best practice, compliance audits and the provision of advice to all grades of staff on aspects of IPC. The successful candidate must be able to work both independently and as an effective member of a wider team and be able to work across all sites.
We are looking for aRegistered Nurse with a good understanding of Infection Prevention and Control and have an interest in improving infection prevention and control practice. It is desirable to have experience in training and undertaking audits. They must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to influence and motivate staff. Good collaborative, team working and problem solving skills are essential.

This role involves:
- Providing Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) support and advice where necessary; working with stake holders to ensure that their practice is in alignment with national guidance and best evidence-based practice.
- Developing and delivering IPC mandatory training programmes to clinical and non- clinical staff
- Being able to work efficiently alone and as part of a team.
- Maintaining good communication and working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Organising and prioritising own specialist workload across a range of complex activities.
- Being able to travel to and work from different sites and to external events when required.
