Job summary
We are excited to offer this opportunity within the well-established oncology pharmacy team. The primary aim of the post is to lead the pharmacy service to the inpatient facilities at Royal Surrey Cancer Centre. This would include supervision, education and training of staff working in these areas. The postholder would also contribute to the wider delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the Oncology Division.

- Lead responsibility for the pharmacy service to inpatient facilities at Royal Surrey Cancer Centre (inpatient facilities used for SACT procedures, management of SACT-related side effects or other care related to symptoms of cancer).
- Responsible for the supervision, education and training of pharmacy staff in the inpatient facilities at Royal Surrey Cancer Centre.
- Active member of the Oncology Pharmacy Team delivering a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to oncology, haematology-oncology, and palliative care patients.
- Work as a highly specialist practitioner in accordance with objectives.
- Contribute to the development and validation of protocols and electronic proforma prescriptions for oncology chemotherapy and supportive care regimens.
- Support the pharmacy set-up of oncology clinical trials.
- Support the provision of a Trust Wide Medicines Management service.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- Master's degree in pharmaceutical science or equivalent plus a higher qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience
- Postgraduate Pharmacy Diploma or equivalent experience
- Registered Pharmacist with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Professional knowledge acquired through vocational master's degree in pharmacy (4 years) plus successful completion of 1 year's pre-registration experience and examination.
- At least 2 years' experience providing a clinical service to oncology &/or haematology patients as a component of at least 4 years as a clinical pharmacist
