Job summary

The post holder is responsible for providing and co-ordinating care for patients, carers and their families who have or fear they may have a Lymphoma. This includes the delivery of expert holistic evidence based clinical care to patients with complex care needs and the provision of education for patients carers and staff.

The post holder is expected to work in partnership with the haematology team and all the MDT's within the Trust identifying potential lymphoma patients. To work with haematology and Cancer Management team to improve and develop the service so that it meetsthe needs of the patients.

The post holder will act as an expert resource to health care professionals.

Person Specification

Education and qualifications

Essential

  • NMC registration Level 1
  • Using specialist knowledge to a master's level or equivalent
  • Cancer Nursing Degree or equivalent
  • ENB 998/equivalent
  • ENB 237/A27 or equivalent

Experience and knowledge

Essential

  • At least 5 years post registration experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience at Band 6 within Acute Oncology Nursing
  • Awareness of Cancer Policy and its application
  • Evidence of professional development and its relevant application
  • Standard setting and protocol development
  • Knowledge of change management process
  • Leadership experience
  • Computer literate
  • Experience of developing, training and education in clinical practice
  • Venepuncture and cannulation experience
  • Clinical audit
  • Initiation and evaluation of evidence based practice
  • Intravenous drug administration
  • Experience with use of complex medical/clinical equipment
  • Cytotoxic drug administration
