Greenwich Children's Integrated Therapies Service are looking to appoint following increased interest in our services. This is an opportunity for shortly to qualify students, newly qualified or Band 5 Occupational Therapist with experience.

You will have the opportunity to work with school-age children & young people with a range of functional difficulties. Providing assessment, advice & intervention, with a supportive team of therapists & assistants.

There is the opportunity for professional development & the support of a team of therapists & assistants. You will have access to admin, managerial & clinical support. CPD is supported & the development of clinical interests is encouraged. We have embedded support to offer for B5 therapists including:

-Regular 1:1 supervision

-Group supervision

-Peer support

-Oxleas internal preceptorship programme

Main duties of the job

The Greenwich Children's Integrated Therapies service consists ofOccupational Therapy,Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy, and teams, providing services to Early Years, School Years and Special Schools. There will be ample opportunities to for joint working as part of multidisciplinary team.

The Greenwich Children's Occupational therapy team has specialists in all key clinical areas including: Autism, Early years, Mainstream, Education & EHCP's, Complex needs in primary and secondary specialist settings. We work closely to provide clinical support and second opinions.

As the post holder you will:

  • Provideoccupational therapy assessment and intervention to children and young people, with a variety of developmental disabilities. The CYP will present with a range of needs relating to self-care, play and school activities.
  • Work as part of a integrated team with teachers supporting children with functional difficulties and their families
  • Have opportunities for involvement in service development projects.

Job description

Job responsibilities

You will work alongside a large team of Therapists and Assistants and will have access to administrative, managerial and clinical support. Where appropriate you will receive higher levels of supervision for Newly Qualified Therapists to support the completion of your Occupational Therapy NQP Competencies Framework.

Training and career development is well supported within Oxleas with the opportunity to attend both internal and external training.

Experience

Essential

  • Range of practical placement experience
  • Experience of using standardised OT assessments
  • Some clinical experience including individual and group work.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team

  • Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance.
