Band 7 Physician Associate St Pancras Rehabilitation Unit (SPRU) Full Time, 6 Months Fixed Term
Central and Northwest London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) is seeking a Band 7 Physician Associate to join the St Pancras Rehabilitation Unit (SPRU) on a full-time, 6-month fixed-term basis. SPRU provides specialist inpatient rehabilitation to residents of North London, with expertise spanning frailty management, neurological and stroke rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, trauma, and amputee care.
The successful candidate will provide holistic, evidence-based care for patients under the care of the multi-pathology team on Rochester West Ward. Working within a multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and allied health professionals, the post-holder will contribute to clinical assessment and management; and planning safe, timely discharges. The role offers close consultant supervision, structured induction and professional development via teaching and quality improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Physician Associate to develop advanced clinical skills within a supportive, education-focused rehabilitation service.

Main duties of the job
Provide holistic, evidence-based care for multi-pathology patients on Rochester West Ward, making clinical diagnoses and decisions within the scope of practice, based on strong clinical examination skills, evidence-based practice, and Trust protocols.
Clinically assess patients, ensuring safety and quality of care, and escalate or de-escalate medical oversight as appropriate.
Utilise appropriate bedside test and available investigations in combination with extended clinical skills to support the assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management of patients in the rehab/intermediate care setting.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team to promote continuity, communication, and quality of care.
Support the development and quality improvement of the rehabilitation service, contributing ideas, feedback, and clinical insight to enhance patient outcomes and service efficiency.
