The Role This is an opportunity for an experienced Principal Transport Planner to take a leading role in project delivery while supporting the growth of a dynamic and collaborative team.
You’ll be involved in both technical delivery and client-facing work, with real influence over projects and the direction of schemes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage transport planning projects from inception through to delivery

  • Prepare and review key technical documents, including:

  • Transport Assessments & Statements

  • Travel Plans

  • Technical Notes and supporting documents

  • Provide strategic transport advice to clients and project teams

  • Support and manage junior team members

  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and public consultations

  • Liaise with local authorities and key stakeholders


What They’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in transport planning (consultancy or local authority)
  • Strong technical background in development planning
  • Experience producing and reviewing Transport Assessments
  • Ability to manage projects and client relationships independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering, Geography, Transport Planning)
