Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) on a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, to join our high performing and creative team. This is an opportunity for a qualified PWP to develop their career. This role involves offering evidence-based practice in delivering low intensity interventions such as guided self-help and computerised CBT (SilverCloud) within an NHS Talking Therapies service. We also value experience or interest of delivering therapy in a group format.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to contribute towards areas of special interest as part of our focus group programme and equity initiatives.
We offer regular training opportunities providing teaching and CPD from peers, senior colleagues and external trainers.
Each PWP has a designated Line Manager and Case Manager and is expected to attend regular line management and case management meetings as well as supervision.

This vacancy is offered as a 12 month fixed term contract for maternity leave cover. All clinical staff work one late evening per week (12pm until 8pm) on either a Monday or a Thursday. We currently offer blended working, working from both home and from the office 2 days per week. We will continue to review this approach in line with future service needs.

Education/ Qualification/ Training
Essential
- Post Graduate qualification in Primary Care Mental Health work or Talking Therapies PWP Training or equivalent
- All applicants need to be registered with the BABCP within 6 months of qualifying
Experience
Essential
- Worked with people who have had mental health difficulties specifically within a Talking Therapies service
- Worked in a setting where there was a need to liaise with other agencies and services
- Assessment - Has received training (either formal or through experience) resulting in the ability to carry out agreed assessments which are conducted within service protocols
- Intervention Planning - has received training (either formal or through experience) so that appropriate interventions can be planned with the service user
- Has received training to carry out safety assessments and developing safety plans
- Basic training/ experience in use of computers for data entry, communication and seeking information
- Supervision - Has received training (either formal or through experience) on how to utilise supervision in the workplace
Desirable
- Previous experience in primary care
- Experience in using complex IT systems for case management ie: IAPTUS
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Knowledge of different anxiety presentations and depression
- Able to elicit information from a patient providing context for potential difficulties for the service user
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, service users, carers and relatives
- Able to manage own time and case load, keep clear concise records and have good administration skills
Desirable
- Fluent in a language other than English - please state all languages you could deliver therapy in
- Experience of working with people from diverse communities
- Experience of working with interpreters
- Possess an understanding of the main medications used and their side effects in the treatment of anxiety and depression
- Understanding of the Talking Therapies aims and targets, and actively promotes recovery
