Job summary
The post holder will work as part of the Radiology team to deliver a high-quality, safe, and efficient diagnostic imaging service within the Plain Film department at Ealing Hospital. The role involves undertaking a wide range of general radiographic examinations across emergency, inpatient and outpatient pathways, ensuring excellent patient care and technical standards at all times.
The successful candidate will work within an extended working hours service in line with Agenda for Change terms and conditions, participating in a shift system that includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays where required.
The post holder will work collaboratively with radiologists, radiographers and multidisciplinary colleagues to support timely diagnosis and patient flow, maintaining compliance with IR(ME)R regulations and Trust policies.
The role also includes supporting service delivery, maintaining equipment standards, participating in audit and continuous professional development, and contributing to the supervision of students and new staff.
Main duties of the job
Perform a wide range of general radiographic examinations to a high technical and professional standard Ensure safe practice in line with IR(ME)R and IRR regulations at all times Provide high-quality, patient-centred care, ensuring dignity, safety and comfort Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team to support service delivery and patient flow Participate in an extended hours shift system in line with Agenda for Change (including evenings, weekends and bank holidays) Undertake CT scanning duties following appropriate training and competency sign-off Use clinical judgement and seek senior support where required Participate in the "red dot" system to highlight potential abnormalities Undertake cannulation and administration of contrast media following training Maintain and monitor imaging equipment, reporting faults appropriately Contribute to quality assurance, audit, and clinical governance activities Maintain accurate patient records and comply with information governance policies Support the training, supervision and mentoring of students and new staff Maintain own continuing professional development and HCPC registration Adhere to Trust policies including health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding

Education and Qualifications
Essential
- BSc Radiography (or equivalent qualification)
- HCPC registered Diagnostic Radiographer
Knowledge and experience
Essential
- oUnderstanding of IR(ME)R and IRR regulations and their application in clinical practice
- Experience (or clinical placement exposure) in A&E, mobile and general radiography
- Knowledge of a broad range of general radiographic examinations across emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings
- Understanding of patient care principles, including dignity, safeguarding, and infection control
Desirable
- Exposure to CT and contrast studies desirable (or willingness to develop skills)
- Experience supporting or working with students and multidisciplinary teams (
