Join our friendly and supportive Wound Healing Service, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to patients across clinic, community and residential care settings. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to develop specialist wound care skills while making a real difference to patients' healing journeys and quality of life.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and compassionate nurse with an interest in wound care who is looking to develop specialist skills within a progressive and patient-focused service.

The group is currently trialling a new Integrated Neighbourhood Team (INT) model following a collaborative event with internal and external stakeholders. This pilot aims to explore team structures and assess the impact on patient experience. While no formal redesign has taken place yet, the outcomes of this trial may inform future service delivery and team configuration across the group.

If you are successful in your application, please be aware that your team structure and line management may be subject to change in the future as part of this evolving model. However, any formal changes will be preceded by appropriate consultation in line with organisational policy.

Please note that a Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based wound care to patients in clinic, community and residential care settings.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised wound healing treatment plans.
  • Manage a caseload of patients, supporting them through their wound healing journey and promoting self-management where appropriate.
  • Undertake advanced wound care interventions, including specialist dressing applications and compression therapy.
  • Work collaboratively with GPs, district nurses, practice nurses and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to service performance and healing outcome data collection.
  • Support and supervise students, learners and new team members within the service.
  • Participate in audit, quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development to help shape and improve the service.

As a Registered Nurse, you will assess, plan and deliver individualised wound care treatments, manage your own caseload with support from experienced senior nurses, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for patients.

Qualifications

Essential

  • o NMC registration o Full valid UK driving License o First level Degree

  • o Relevant qualification/training/experience in Wound care

Experience

  • o Experience in the management of wound healing o Able to demonstrate clinical competence in basic wound assessment and wound bed preparation o Post Preceptorship experience

Desirable

  • o Experience in teaching and supervising junior staff o Adapt ability flexibly to work as a team member

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • o Understanding of local national initiatives within the wound care field o Knowledge of wound care o Communication skills including communication with a range of professionals o IT skills able to send email and use computers
