This post is based in the UCL Centre for Clinical Research in Infection and Sexual Health in the Department of Infection and Population Health. The Centre is dedicated to advancing the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases and improving sexual health outcomes.

The Senior Clinical Research Manager will provide professional leadership, coordination of, and support to the research delivery team (comprising research nurses, research assistants and data mangers) within the Centre for Clinical Research in infection and Sexual Health (CRISH).

We have a large research programme covering a diverse range of studies from observational cohort studies to treatment trials for HIV infection, other sexually transmitted infections and viral hepatitis. We have an expanding programme of studies on STI prevention including vaccine and prophylaxis studies, as well as in social and implementation science.

Job responsibilities
The Senior Clinical Research Manager will provide professional leadership, coordination of, and support to the research delivery team (comprising research nurses, research assistants and data mangers) within the Centre for Clinical Research in infection and Sexual Health (CRISH). The postholder will act as the managerial lead covering all aspects of research expert practice, education and development and leadership.
This is a full-time role available for 2 years in the first instance.

Salary range: £68,284 to £76,244 per annum (including London Allowance), depending on experience.

Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Knowledge of the clinical trial life cycle including experience of the set up and performance management of clinical research studies
- Knowledge of current national systems and structures for the approval, management and monitoring of clinical research studies
- Excellent cross disciplinary /interagency communication skills and ability to facilitate collaborative working relationships
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead, motivate and negotiate
- Ability to organize and prioritise own workload, manage time effectively and deliver results consistently to tight deadlines
- Ability to think strategically, use initiative, analyse problems, make decisions, and implement effective and appropriate solutions
- Ability to work autonomously as well as a member of a team
- Ability to deal with difficult /sensitive situations
- Excellent IT skills, including the use of databases

- Experience of managing high performing teams
