Job summary

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Occupational Health Nurse advisor to join our team. If you would like to make a positive difference and work in an Organisational which truly values its staff this will interest you.

You will join a team of Senior Occupational Health Nurse Advisors, leading on all aspects of the service providing a comprehensive Occupational Health Service to our staff.

This will facilitate employee health and wellbeing through health screening, health assessment and health promotion, working as part of a cohesive Occupational Health team within a very busy environment.

The ideal candidate will be highly competent and confident, have excellent interpersonal skills, proficient I.T. skills and a flexible proactive approach to be able to manage a varied and sometimes demanding workload.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, English and or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

Manage and provide professional leadership for the planning and delivery of an effective high quality Occupational Health Service.

Provide professional leadership for all Occupational Health nursing staff and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Provide Occupational Health clinical leadership, ensuring an acceptable standard of evidence based, high quality care is consistently delivered to staff.

Contributes to strategic Occupational Health work including attendance at key meetings as required.

Professional development leadership, mentorship for new staff and students.

Demonstrate considerable initiative, ability to work autonomously and able to establish effective working and collaborative relationships within the team and with service users, partners and stakeholders as required.

Provide departmental Occupational Health leadership, undertaking all aspects of day to day line and service management.

Management of the clinical area and clinical resources, managing risk within the area and flagging areas of concern.

Leading on project work as required.

Carrying a complex case load as required.

Monitor standards and compliance within clinical Occupational Health Service.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • RN Level 1
  • Evidence of professional development to MSc level or equivalent experience.
  • Occupational Health experience

  • Occupational Health qualification, degree level (or willing to work towards)
  • Teaching and assessing module
  • Counselling skills/qualification
  • Health and Safety qualification
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance
  • Knowledge of organisational policies/procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of Employment law
  • Rehabilitation and return to work strategies

Experience
