An exciting and rewarding opportunity within the Women's Health Division for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dynamic individual to join our management team as a Service Manager for a fixed-term contract. The post holder will work alongside the existing 2 Service Managers across Breast, General Gynaecology, Colposcopy, Diagnostics and Gynaecology Oncology to establish 1 WTE Breast and Projects Service Manager, 1 WTE General Gynaecology, Diagnostics and Emergency, 1 WTE Colposcopy, Familial Cancer and Gynaecology Oncology.We are looking for an individual who is committed to making a real difference in the delivery of Breast and Gynaecology Services. The successful candidate will be a proactive and approachable operational leader, with strong pathway management experience and the ability to work effectively in a pressured, performance focused environment while maintaining a clear focus on high quality, patient centred care.They will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and demonstrates skills, behaviours and values aligned with UCLH Trust values.If you're looking for a varied and rewarding that offers the opportunity to contribute to contribute to service development, performance recovery and continuous improvement, this could be the role for you!

Main duties of the job

The assessment process will consist of a test/stakeholder panel and interview scheduled w/c 20 July.

As Service Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of your service. You will ensure the highest standards of patient care while leading and supporting a well-trained, efficient, and motivated administration team. Your role will also involve fostering strong relationships with the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and various internal and external stakeholders, helping to ensure smooth operations and positive patient outcomes. Key responsibilities will include:* Managing service delivery and performance across outpatient and surgical pathways.* Ensuring seamless coordination between clinical and administrative teams.* Maintaining a high standard of patient care in line with hospital guidelines.* Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve service quality.* Leading and supporting the development of the administrative team, ensuring efficient processes and a positive working environment.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree and/or an appropriate professional qualification or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • Previous managerial experience in a large and complex organisation preferably within the NHS
  • Proven experience in service improvement and development
  • Proven experience in effective management of budget and effective leadership of staff.
  • A proven record of success in managing change while also developing and maintaining high standards of quality.

Skills & Abilities

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate effectively at directorate management team level.
  • Proven track record of working under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Ability to prioritise effectively
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills with ability to motivate and engage individuals and teams
