Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic Specialty Doctor colleague dedicated to providing high quality patient care. The post is fixed term for 12 months to support the established SAS team in order to provide a comprehensive Consultant served Otorhinolaryngology service at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Foundation Trust and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities will be towards managing the local general ENT workload across the Trust, which provides services over three sites: Scunthorpe General Hospital (SGH), Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital (DPoW) in Grimsby and Goole District Hospital (GDH). All the outpatient clinics have microscope and flexible endoscopes and a range of imaging systems. The Otorhinolaryngological theatres are equipped with imaging, recording and monitoring for a wide range of procedures.

Job responsibilities
Whilst the Specialty Doctor post will be based at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, the post holders may be required to travel from base to outreach clinics and other sites within the Trust. Sufficient travel and expenses will be allocated to support this. It will be essential for the post-holder to hold a full UK driving licence and be able to drive between sites.
This post is for a good team player dedicated to high quality patient care. The opportunity exists to work in a non-hierarchical setting and offer a wide range of procedures in this busy Trust. The post holder would be expected to perform general otorhinolaryngological duties with a complimentary special interest.
The postholder will be expected to deliver clinical activity for adult and paediatric patients in the Outpatient and elective/emergency theatre setting.

Essential
- Registerable Medical Degree eg MBBS
- MRCS
Eligibility

- 4 years post graduate experience
- 2 years experience within ENT
- Full registration with GMC , including licence to practice
Language SKills

- Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
- Have the following scores in the academic lnternational English Language Testing or equivalent System (IELTS) - Overall 7.5, Speaking 7, Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing

- Able to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job, both elective and emergency ENT procedures
- Clinical judgement: experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk. Knows when to seek help, able to prioritise clinical need.
