Job summary
Are you a Registered Sick Children's Nurse who is passionate about delivering outstanding care to babies, children, and young people?
We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Paediatric Team on a fixed-term, full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and child-centred service, caring for patients aged 0--18 years with a wide range of acute and chronic physical and mental health needs.
In this rewarding role, you will use your clinical expertise to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, evidence-based care. You will play a vital role in supporting children and their families, helping them navigate their healthcare journey while making a genuine difference to their lives every day
Main duties of the job
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated paediatric team where your skills, compassion, and commitment will have a lasting impact on children, young people, and their families.
You will care for patients with a diverse range of healthcare needs, from acute illness and long-term conditions through to complex care and end-of-life support. No two days are the same, and you'll be part of a team that is committed to delivering the highest standards of family-centred care.
You'll work collaboratively with doctors, allied health professionals, healthcare support workers, and other colleagues to ensure every child receives safe, effective, and personalised care. Your ability to build trusting relationships with patients and families will be just as important as your clinical expertise, helping to create positive experiences during what can often be difficult circumstances.
Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you will have opportunities to develop your leadership skills by supporting students and junior team members, acting as a role model for professional practice, and taking charge of the ward where appropriate. You will also contribute to audits, quality improvement projects, and the implementation of best practice, helping to shape and enhance services for the future.
