Diban Ltd requires to hire a Structural Engineer to provide structural and civil engineering design support across Diban’s network build, highways, utilities and EV charging projects. The role will be responsible for producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, technical specifications, temporary works solutions and construction methodologies to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, compliantly and to a “right first-time” standard.

Main duties include:

• Prepare and review structural and civil engineering designs, calculations, drawings and technical specifications for telecoms, highways, utilities and EV charging projects.
• Design foundations, support structures, chambers, pits, slabs, retaining elements, excavation support, equipment bases and other associated civils infrastructure.
• Provide technical support to project managers, site teams and supervisors during planning, construction, maintenance and handover stages.
• Carry out site visits, surveys, inspections and structural assessments to identify constraints, verify design assumptions and resolve engineering issues.
• Develop and review temporary works solutions, including excavation support, shoring, propping, access arrangements and safe working platforms.
• Ensure all designs and engineering outputs comply with CDM Regulations, UK standards, client requirements, local authority specifications and health and safety obligations.
• Support buildability reviews, risk assessments, method statements, permit submissions and construction sequencing to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, subcontractors, designers and internal teams to coordinate technical requirements and deliver right-first-time engineering solutions.

Skills and Education:

• Proven experience in structural or civil engineering design, preferably within utilities, highways, telecoms, EV charging, infrastructure or civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of structural calculations, foundations, temporary works, reinforced concrete, steelwork, groundworks and below-ground infrastructure.
• Good understanding of UK construction standards, CDM Regulations, health and safety requirements, and safe design principles.
• Ability to produce and interpret technical drawings, specifications, site surveys, utility records and design documentation, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Adaptable to international project environments, with experience working across diverse regions and regulatory frameworks.
