Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Registered Health Care Professional to join our friendly vaccination team, supporting the safe and effective delivery of vaccination programmes across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
This is a varied and rewarding role, offering the opportunity to protect vulnerable people, work in a range of community settings, and predominantly support the COVID-19 vaccination service but also the opportunity to support the School.
Main duties of the job
As a registered vaccinator, you will undertake a varied clinical role supporting the planning, preparation and delivery of vaccination clinics. Key responsibilities include:
o completing clinical assessments, gaining consent, preparing vaccines, and providing additional clinical support as required;
o administering vaccinations to eligible patients and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of clinics;
o ensuring vaccines are prepared, stored and handled safely in line with SOPs and pharmacy guidance;
o travelling across the county to deliver vaccinations in clinics, hospitals, care homes, pop-up venues and patients' homes and schools.
o working closely with colleagues, escalating concerns appropriately and contributing to a safe, positive clinic environment;
o using digital systems accurately to record vaccination activity and maintain high-quality data;
o helping to set up clinics, manage vaccine movement, and ensure infection prevention, safety and quality standards are maintained.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Health Care Professional e.g. NMC for nurses, GPhC for pharmacists and equivalent for other healthcare professionals.
- Educated to degree level (level 5) in relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in specialist area.
- Current immunisation training / update or willingness to undertake.
Experience

- Experience administering Intra Muscular injections
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge of cold chain procedures and medicines management

- Knowledge of immunisation schedules in accordance with national recommendations.
