Fixed Term Contract Maternity Cover - end date 27th June 2027. This is a part time position of 30 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join the Colorectal CNS team at Kettering General Hospital.

This role involves being a lead within the team and will be directly responsible for and line manage the band 6 CNS, patient support and admin staff, as well as working as an autonomous practitioner.

You will be a vital core member of the Colorectal MDT, providing specialist advice and support to both patients and their families as well as other healthcare professionals.

Interviews have provisionally been scheduled to take place on the 15th July, however this is subject to change

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join an established and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist team to provide expert clinical care and holistic support to patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated nurse who is able to work autonomously and effectively under pressure within this busy specialty. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and time management skills.

Significant experience in the care and management of patients with colorectal cancer is essential for this role.

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic and cohesive multidisciplinary colorectal team, committed to delivering a high-quality, patient-centred service.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse/Current NMC registration
  • Nursing Degree or equivalent level of education, training or experience
  • Recognised teaching/mentoring qualification
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Oncology/Colorectal Cancer
  • Advanced Communication training or willingness to undertake
  • Evidence of continuing development

Desirable

  • MSc relevant to clinical practice or willing to work towards
  • Counselling Experience

Skills

Essential

  • Highly developed communication skills and Interpersonal skills
  • Liaison, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Documentation of a high standard - Report Writing
  • IT Literacy
