We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and inspirational operational leader to join the Trust as Divisional Director for Clinical Support Services. Working in partnership with the Divisional Director of Nursing, Divisional Medical Director and Chief Pharmacist, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the division, ensuring delivery of safe, effective, high-quality services. You will be accountable for operational performance, financial management, business planning, quality, governance, risk management, workforce leadership and compliance with regulatory, Health & Safety and statutory requirements.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will lead service transformation, performance improvement and efficiency programmes, supporting frontline teams to deliver sustainable change. You will provide line management for non-clinical staff across the division, contribute to Trust-wide strategic planning, work collaboratively with internal and external partners, and participate in the Trust Executive on-call rota. Main duties of the job
Provide strategic & operational leadership for the Clinical Support Services Division, ensuring delivery of safe, effective, responsive & patient-centred services aligned with Trust objectives. Lead service redesign, transformation, business planning, performance improvement and productivity programmes, working collaboratively with clinical leaders, corporate teams, commissioners, ICBs, LAs & system partners.
Manage day-to-day operational performance, ensuring delivery of national & local standards including Referral to Treatment, Cancer, Diagnostics, Emergency Care, patient experience, productivity & efficiency targets. Maintain operational resilience, business continuity and compliance with statutory, regulatory and governance requirements.
Hold delegated responsibility for divisional budgets, financial planning, resource utilisation, Cost Improvement Programmes & business cases, ensuring financial balance & value for money. Lead quality, governance, patient safety and risk management processes, ensuring compliance with CQC and NHS standards and embedding learning from incidents, complaints, audits & investigations.
Provide visible, compassionate & inclusive leadership, promoting staff engagement, wellbeing, equality, talent management & workforce development. Monitor, report & present performance to Trust committees & Boards, implement recovery plans where required, benchmark services against best practice and represent the Trust at local, regional & national forums.
