Newly Qualified Nurse Opportunity - William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre (WQSEC)
Full Time (39 hours per week) ¦ Permanent (conditional)

This post is specifically aimed at newly qualified nurses, including those awaiting NMC PIN registration.

Your new role

We are delighted to invite applications from newly qualified nurses to join our established and highly supportive nursing team at the William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre.

This full‑time position (39 hours per week) offers an excellent opportunity to begin your nursing career within a specialist service supporting adults with epilepsy and complex health needs. You’ll work as part of a strong, experienced multidisciplinary team that is committed to learning, development and high‑quality, person‑centred care.

Newly Qualified Nurse Pathway

We warmly welcome applications from:

  • Final‑year nursing students due to qualify in 2026
  • Newly qualified nurses who are awaiting NMC PIN registration

Where candidates are awaiting their PIN, interim Health Care Assistant (HCA) contracts may be offered. This allows you to join the service on a full‑time basis, complete induction and gain valuable experience while finalising your registration.

Once your NMC PIN is received, you would then seamlessly transfer into the registered Staff Nurse role.

What we are looking for

  • A newly qualified nurse (or due to qualify in 2026)
  • Compassionate, values‑led and committed to person‑centred care
  • Enthusiastic about learning and developing within a specialist clinical environment
  • Able to work effectively as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team

What we offer

  • A supportive and structured transition into your first nursing role
  • Full‑time hours (39 per week)
  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing clinical supervision
  • Excellent opportunities for learning, development and career progression
  • The opportunity to work within a values‑led organisation committed to delivering high‑quality care

Important information

Appointments will be made subject to:

  • Receipt of NMC PIN registration
  • Successful completion of all safer recruitment checks

Interim arrangements will be discussed with candidates who are awaiting registration.

How to apply

If you are a newly qualified nurse looking to start your career in a supportive, specialist and full‑time role, we would be delighted to hear from you.
