Fixed Term ( 12 months) | Full Time

We are excited to announce an opening for a Paediatric Surgery post at ST3+ level on the middle grade rota. This 12-month position offers an opportunity to gain experience in neonatal surgery, general and subspecialist paediatric surgery, and urology, as part of a dynamic and supportive team.

While this post is not approved for educational purposes by the Postgraduate Dean, you will still benefit from the same teaching and training opportunities as other Higher Specialist and Core Surgical Trainees.

Main duties of the job

  • Work as part of the middle grade rota, gaining hands-on experience in our 12-bedded Neonatal Surgical Unit, managing newborn infants and children with congenital malformations and other surgical conditions. This includes those requiring complex neonatal surgery.
  • Provide high-quality care across a range of paediatric surgical specialties, including Urology, Surgical Gastroenterology, Thoracic Surgery, and Oncology.
  • Participate in pre-operative assessments, operative procedures, and post-operative care, with a focus on minimal access techniques.
