Ward 5 is a Haematology ward. We would be required to undertaking the care of the patient receiving SACT module at Guys Cancer Academy to be able to administer SACT. We are also able to offer other haematology / cancer care modules which are all accredited and can be used towards degree / masters. As the inpatient unit for Autologous Stem Cell transplant we are also able to offer the Stem Cell transplant module too.
Ward 5 operates a two-shift working pattern - 07.00-19.30 and 19-00-07:30
You will be required to work across site with Clinical Nurse Specialist and Multi-disciplinary team members within the Cancer Care and Haematology units and ward.
You will be required to work a rotational shift pattern Monday to Sunday
Main duties of the job
The post holder is designated to regularly take charge of the ward/department, and provide an effective, professional and managerial leadership focus, in the absence of the ward manager or deputy.
Is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care, maintaining a high standard of nursing care within the framework of Trust policies.
Supervises qualified and/or unqualified staff.
Teaches qualified and unqualified staff including basic and/or post basic students.
Will participate in an annual performanceat which appropriate targets will be defined. To this end this job description is presented as a working document and is therefore, subject to alteration in the event of significant developments.

Essential
