Ward Sister / Charge Nurse - Cardiology Ward (A11) 36 hours Permanent position

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered General Nurse with a passion for Cardiology to join Ward A11 as a Ward Sister / Charge Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 5 Nurse ready to take the next step in their career, or for an established Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse looking to further develop their leadership skills within a busy and dynamic cardiology environment. Ward A11 provides specialist care for patients admitted under the Medical Directorate for cardiology assessment, treatment, and ongoing management. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Ward Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual who is well organised, able to work effectively under pressure, and ready to further develop their leadership skills within a friendly and supportive team environment.

As a Ward Sister / Charge Nurse on Ward A11, you will support the delivery of high-quality patient care while assisting in the day-to-day management and coordination of the ward. You will provide visible clinical leadership, support junior staff, and help maintain a positive and professional ward culture.

Experience

  • Experience in cardiology or area of specialty
  • experience in hospital setting

  • Evidence of professional leadership, leading to innovation in practice.
  • Evidence of multi-disciplinary/multi-agency working.
  • Evidence of delivering education and training to staff and patients

Skills

Essential

  • Mentors / Assessors / teaching Qualification
  • Experience as Band 5 or 2 years or more
  • Knowledge of trust policies and procedures

  • Able to challenge, and to take appropriate action to correct poor or unsatisfactory working practices
