Are you looking for a new challenge? We have an opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking and innovative Occupational Therapist to join the Frailty Team at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants.

You will be expected to be the driving force behind the OT service and will be responsible for overseeing the supervision and development of the OT's and therapy assistants within the team.

Main duties of the job

The role involves providing assessment, treatment and discharge planning to a wide variety of inpatients.

This post would suit an experienced band 6 looking to specialise in the field of Frailty and who is ready to embrace the challenge of a band 7 role.

The Trust's services are provided from three locations: o The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds. o Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility. o Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population. The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust employs 5,964 staff (headcount) to provide care and treatment to a population of over 400,000 people living in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire. Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC Registration

Desirable

  • Membership of professional body and specialist interest group

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 4 years post qualification with at least 2 years at a specialist level
  • Evidence of commitment to Continuing Professional Development and reflective practice
  • Ability to organise and respond to complex information, and work under pressure
  • Advanced knowledge of current best practice in specialist Occupational Therapy area e.g. Critical Care
  • Knowledge of professional ethics and their application in practice
