North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust Agenda for Change Band 9

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an exceptional digital leader to help shape the future of one of the NHS's most ambitious digital transformation programmes.

Serving more than 500,000 people across one of England's largest and most geographically diverse health systems, NCIC has already established itself as a national leader through the successful implementation of the first phase of its Electronic Patient Record (EPR), recognised by NHS England as an exemplar programme. Now we're looking for a Director of Digital to build on that success.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Digital, Estates & Facilities, you'll provide strategic leadership across digital services, cyber security, infrastructure, information systems and digital transformation. Working closely with executive, clinical and operational colleagues, you'll ensure digital enables better patient care, improves staff experience and supports our long-term strategic ambitions.

Main duties of the job

This is a role with genuine breadth and influence. You'll lead major transformation programmes, oversee the continued rollout of our EPR, drive innovation through artificial intelligence and automation, strengthen digital resilience and play a leading role across the wider Integrated Care System.

We're looking for an experienced senior digital leader with a proven track record of delivering complex transformation within large organisations. You'll bring strategic vision, operational credibility and the ability to build strong relationships across clinical, operational and system partners. Experience leading large-scale digital programmes, developing digital strategy and delivering measurable benefits is essential. Experience of EPR implementation within healthcare would be advantageous.

At NCIC, digital is central to our future. This is an opportunity to join an ambitious organisation that has made significant progress and is committed to delivering safe, high-quality care every time through innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.

If you want to lead meaningful transformation that improves outcomes for patients and communities while helping shape the future of integrated healthcare, we'd love to hear from you.
