We areseekingto recruit2xexperienced senior well-being practitioners to join the Tower Hamlets Education Well-being Service (THEWS).
THEWS is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST)establishedfollowing thegovernment'sGreen Paper: Transforming Children & Young People's Mental Health Provision. The service has undergone recent expansion.
The three core functions of a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) are:

Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people (CYP) with mild-to-moderate mental health problems.

Supporting the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce, develop and deliver the whole school/college approach.

Givingtimelyadvice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help CYP to get the right support and stay in education.
Main duties of the job
The role involves delivering all three MHST functions. The role involves providing clinical supervision to practitioners within the team, holding a small caseload of clinical work (based on the post-holder's training and interests), acting as a senior link supporting school leads to develop their whole school approach to well-being, project work, other tasks as/when required.
THEWS is part of the Tower Hamlets Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based in Whitechapel, East London.

Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Knowledge of current guidelines and recent developments in evidence-based assessments and interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health problems
- Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management and mental health in relation to children, young people and their families
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and families with a high level of deprivation
- Knowledge of current guidelines in terms of the implementation of the whole-school approach in education
